Oh, my little redbud tree;
You have outgrown me!
I was using my 12’ pole pruners to prune my redbud tree, and was going after one little branch towards the very top, and realized that much of the 10 year old tree has grown well out of my reach (even with a 12’ pole!). It’s a special feeling. I’ve loved watching this tree support more and more wildlife (bees, birds, and squirrels especially) over time. What a joy to witness! If you’ve not experienced this, I highly recommend you plant a native tree somewhere if you can and make a hobby of watching it grow. I promise you, it’s leaps and bounds more exciting than watching turfgrass grow!
